7 Steps for Candle Care!

At Laguna Candles we want you to experience the maximum enjoyment and pleasure from our candles. We take great pride in using only the finest quality ingredients and materials. Please follow these seven suggestions for candle care to keep Laguna Candles a bright and beautiful part of your life.

1. Keep wick(s) trimmed to 1/4” at all times.
If smoking occurs, use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame, trim wicks, remove trimmings, then relight.
2. Keep the wick centered. It will help your candles burn evenly and protect the sides of your holder, which could be damaged by close contact with the flame.

3.Never extinguish a candle by blowing, as it may cause splashing and wax spills. Always use a Laguna Candles snuffer or Laguna Candles wick dipper.

4. Never leave burning candles unattended.

5. Never move candles when lit.
In an emergency, never try to extinguish flame with water, use baking soda to extinguish the flame.

6. Store candles in a cool, dry place to avoid color fading, melting or cracking.

7. Keep candles out of direct sunlight to prevent fading and warping.
Over time, candles may become scratched or seem to lose their fragrance. Rub gently with a fine mesh stocking to heighten the gloss, remove any scratches and release the fragrance from your candles.

Six Candle Safety Tips!

One suggestion when burning your scented or unscented  candle is to enjoy, but always use caution. Laguna Candles would like to offer six helpful tips to keep your home safe while enjoying your candle burning experience.

1.  Never leave burning candles unattended.

2. Keep candles well out of the reach of children and pets.

3. Never place your burning candle on or near anything that can catch fire, such as bedding, drapes, books, or paper.

4. Trim your candles wick while wax is firm and cooled off.

5.Place your candles away from drafts and flammable objects.

6. Place your candle on a flat, heat resistant stable surface.

Cozy Winter Evenings on The Coast

So, instead of blaming this wonderful period of the year for our bad mood, it is better for us to slow down a little bit and capture the infinite beauty of nature. The Aroma Of Space

I started my company Laguna Candles for two reasons. My love for candles and scents and the  desire for a clean burning scented candle and a another important reason was I wanted my three daughters to have a choice to choose between working for someone or for themselves. For many years I also  sold Luxury Real Estate In the Coastal communities of OC.  I previewed some of the most beautiful homes in the US.  What surprised me the most, was how much people invested in the interior of their home, and yet what I  found was as beautiful as these homes  were,  so often the homes were void of scent. Typically when I walk into any home the first thing I notice is the smell.  Scent has always been a large part of who I am. From my days as a little girl mesmerized by the scent of Chanel No. 5 that my Grandmother (Lola) loved,  to walking in  one of my favorite luxury Hotels and smelling beautiful scents all through out.

Many years ago my husband Clarence’s  tennis buddy Herman told him one day, what he loved about our home was that it always smelled wonderful. That was one of the nicest complements that I have heard to this day. The beauty of the Lemon

I am amazed at the the versatility of the lemon. In reading one of my favorite Journals I thought I would share some of the amazing uses. Just imagine, a product that can be used as medicine, cleaning agent, disinfectant, and a beauty treatment.
Lemons are a source of citric acid which is used as a natural preservative and to give a sour taste to food or drink. The lemons pith and peel yield pectin, which is used in the food industry as a thickener, emulsifier, and gelling agent. Additionally there is an oil extracted from the peel that can be used in food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries. The list can go on and on.

One of my favorite things about the lemon is the scent.  Laguna Candles signature scent is ” Laguna Paradise.” It is our number one selling  soy blend scented candle.  It is comprised of  lemon, citrus lime and verbena.

Much work has been involved in running a business. It takes a fearless attitude and a persistent determined mind set. There will be challenges and many Nos. Focus and determination is vital. What happens? Promises come and go , you hope and you you pray that your hard work pays off. Then an opportunity come and you take advantage of it and you appreciate the fact that you never gave up, and that there are those who never forgot where they came from. You remember that is is important that you not forget either.

Ways to Reuse Laguna Candles Vessels

Our mission here at Laguna Candles  is to provide a wonderful Eco friendly product, and that is why I thought I would make weekly suggestions as to how you can reuse our product.  One of the unique ways to reuse our recyclable vessels would be display objects on shelves or counter tops, as we have done below.

One  of benefits when using our Soy, Coconut and Palm wax candles , once you are done burning the candle just simply wash  the container  with soap and water and reuse it.

Creative Ways to Recycle our Vessels

Luxury and sustainability don’t always go hand in hand but here at Laguna Candles we pride ourselves in the fact that our candle products are 100% Eco-friendly.  Our wax is a mixture of natural coconut/palm & soy wax, our wicks are 100% cotton and our vessels are made from recyclable glass and can be reused in a number of creative ways (in other words, Please don’t throw them away)!  Instead consider some creative ways to recycle our vessels in your home or office.
